Lintel Trust Grants Programme Information

Grants Program Application Form

Who Can Apply?

Lintel Trust supports the voluntary sector in Scotland by giving grants and loans to voluntary organisations, including housing associations and housing co-operatives.  Our aim is to help people live full and independent lives in their own homes.

What Level of Grant is Available?

Lintel Trust grants are usually one-off - the normal maximum grant is £2,000 (and matched funding is a criteria for grant).  Small interest free loans  are also available, as is advice on alternative funding possibilities.

Which Groups are Supported?

  • single homeless people
  • people with physical disabilities or mental health problems
  • older people (people of pensionable age, or people over 50 with extra needs)
  • people from minority ethnic groups who are in housing need

All applications must meet the following conditions:

  • The project must relate to providing or supporting independent living in a secure home, or must be run by or closely involve a housing assocation, or must aim to improve people’s housing, standard of living or local community.

  • Organisations should have established an equal opportunities policy, and should be monitoring its efficiency.  If a formal policy is not in place, organisations must be aware of and be working towards best practice in this area.
  • All possible sources of statutory funds (ie local authority or central government) must have been explored.
  • Lottery funding should also have been considered if appropriate.

Under our new subsection heading 'Geographical/Issue-Specific', we would like to ask those who feel that their project might come under that heading to let us know.  This basic information will be held by Lintel, and we can then keep you posted if a suitable donation comes in to us that you may wish to apply for.
