Kirkhill Golf Club Raises Over £18,000 in Annual Charity Fundraiser in Support of Beatson Cancer Charity and Lintel Trust

Kirkhill Golf Club hosted its annual Charity Fundraiser on Thursday 19^th June, bringing together more than 84 players in a spirited day of golf, giving, and community support.  The event raised an impressive £18,740 which will be split evenly between Beatson Cancer Charity and Lintel Trust, two organisations delivering vital support in the fields of health and housing, respectively.

The event, proudly sponsored by DMI Fire and Security, a company well-known for its commitment to corporate social responsibility, highlighted the growing importance of grassroots fundraising initiatives in today’s challenging economic climate.

Vital Support in a Changing Fundraising Landscape

As traditional funding sources tighten and competition for grants increases, events like Kirkhill’s annual charity fundraiser have become essential lifelines for many charitable organisations.  In recent years, the charity fundraising landscape has undergone a significant transformation. Shrinking public sector budgets and rising costs of living have placed unprecedented strain on many non-profits. Against this backdrop, community-driven initiatives such as Kirkhill’s golf day offer both immediate financial relief and renewed public awareness.

“Fundraising events like this are not just about the money - they’re about building relationships and reminding people that small communities can make a big impact,” said Club Captain, Douglas McFarlane from Kirkhill Golf Club. “We’re proud to support both Beatson Cancer Charity and Lintel Trust, and to show what’s possible when people come together for a cause.”

Beneficiaries: Supporting Vital Work

The proceeds will provide a significant cash injection to Lintel Trust’s Small Grant Fund, which supports community-led housing projects and services that improve the quality of life for vulnerable people.  This funding will allow Lintel to extend its reach and provide critical support to projects that often struggle to find backing.

Meanwhile, Beatson Cancer Charity, one of Scotland’s leading cancer support organisations, will use its share of the funds to continue its vital work, which includes patient care, cancer research, and support for families affected by the disease.

Both charities wish to express their sincerest thanks to everyone involved in making the day such a success.
